You Have to MAKE Time

Anybody who works for a living understands how hard it is to exercise. Most of us work 8+ hours a day and by the time we're done, all we feel like doing is relaxing. The last few months of my life has been just that... 14+ hours of work a day and I REALLY don't feel like working out when I'm finally done.

I had a chance to catch up with some former swimmers over the last few weeks. While speaking with them I feel like I keep hearing the same sentence when I ask them what they do to stay in shape. It's frequently: "I don't have time to exercise". When thinking about my typical day, I admit, I rarely HAVE time to exercise. In fact, I can't name a single working individual who HAS time to workout. I can only speak for myself, but especially the last week of my life has been a challenge of MAKING time to workout. It's certainly never easy but it's really the only way it's been a part of my day recently.

Just like the title of this blog, it's a balancing act. Balancing life and training will never be easy. However, it proves to me and others how important it is that I MAKE time in my busy schedule to better myself in this way.

You have to MAKE time. For those who already do, you know what I'm talking about. For those who don't HAVE time... Try it.
