:59's LCM 100 Backstroke with Fins

Posted by Kevin Doak on Sunday at: 4:05pm (September 12th, 2010)

I had a great 3,000 meter practice and ended it with back to back 100's LCM with fins.  My goal was to swim a few race pace 100's backstroke to feel a sub 1:00 race.  I really thought I could squeak out a fantastic time, maybe under my best time of :57.00.  I started out with a butterfly kick and touched at a 1:06.  My second one was a backstroke and clocked in at :59.xx.  I was disappointed that a :59.xx was the fastest I could muster.  I told myself I could do better, I took a full minute rest and tried again.  I pushed it as much as I could but touched in the same :59.xx.  I felt a little defeated but it was motivation to better myself.

I'll do better next time.
