6A Great Practice and New Recruits!

I had a great 4,300 yard practice, my typical 5x100's pull no equipment turned into 10x100's today. I held 1:09's on all of them which is the fastest average ever. I feel a little run down but I'd like to go rollerblading and do weights if I have time later.
I'm hoping to recruit one or two Rec swimmers into Masters Swimming. I keep noticing a decent swimmer training around the same times I do... After a few times of practicing next to him, I introduced myself and told him about Masters Swimming. He had already planned on swimming in a meet at some point. His name is Kevin as well, perhaps in his 30's. He's a great swimmer, although he mentioned he hasn't swam since high school. I encouraged him to attend the State Meet in Lake Orion this year. I think he would do really well. I described to him how motivating it was to compete in that first Masters Meet in 2005. In my case, I felt both pride and a little embarrassment! My first swim back in the pool after 2 years off was a 50 backstroke in 24.15, almost 2 seconds slower than I was in college! Although I felt proud that I "still had it" in a sense. In the weeks that followed, it motivated me to improve and return to my college era times.
My second Recruit might be my friend Sally. She swam at Penn State a few years ago and coaches age group swimming in the area. Months ago she was against competing, but over the course of a few belittling (kidding) conversations I've had with her, I may have guilted her into trying out a Masters Meet!
Thanks for reading.
