I smell like chlorine again!

After a week and a half off I was back in the pool today. IT FELT GREAT! I could only get in the Jones Natatorium for about a half an hour before they shut down the pool but it was worth it. I've enjoyed my time off but I was ready to get back in. I really missed it! I had made it a part of my life and when I wasn't in the pool every day I felt like my day wasn't complete. I dove in tonight and just got a big smile on my face while I took my first lap, I love swimming...

I've been watching the Olympics each night and it's really seemed like swimming has stolen the show! I give a lot of credit to Phelps for that one, he's having the meet of his life. It makes me sort of sorry for the other Olympians. He's attracting so much attention that it really downplays the achievements of lots of other swimmers. I can't blame him for it, it's just how it is. His victory in the 100 Fly tonight was something I didn't think would happen, he was 7th going into the turn and definitely 2nd at the final 15 meter mark. It's amazing what that last stroke did for him, he won by a hundreth of a second... incredible. I watched Dara Torres and Kara Lynn Joyce compete in the 50 Free as well, everybody is putting on a good show, they both made it back for the Finals tomorrow. I watched Cesar Cielo, somebody I remember walking past at the Ohio State Grand Prix, I remember thinking it looked he made a tidal wave of water as he swam the 50 Free there. That was a great win for him, It was kind of cool that he got choked up after he won, he's always seemed pretty down to earth. Overall it's been an amazing Olympics, Swimming really has been at the forefront of the TV coverage, I guess we can thank all the great athletes breaking so many World Records, the new suite technology, and of course Michael Phelps for staying in the spotlight with all the Gold Medals.
