5Excited to start training again!

It was so tough to take a day off but I knew I needed it! I still feel so proud to have been part of such an unbelievable meet. It almost doesn't seem real.
I'm ready to start training and I've been thinking of my next goal. It gives me strength to know that I can accomplish what I set my mind to do. I will lift weights and swim tomorrow. I'm thrilled to not have to worry so much about my safety now, I've been dying to go rollerblading and do some running. I was looking up some masters meets today on www.michiganmasters.com. There aren't too many meets I can make it to, but I'm going to do my best. I miss the great atmosphere the meets have. I noticed a huge difference between the masters meets and the USA meets. I prefer the masters meets because of the incredible people. The meets are relaxed and the people are so nice. The USA meets offer something quite different. They are obviously more competitive, but it's so difficult to talk to people there. Many of the swimmers are high school or college age and don't have any interest in making new contacts or having conversations about things other than swimming.
On a disappointing note, my friend Kara Lynn Joyce got 7th in the 100 free at trials, they take the top 6 for relays. I'm confident that she will do well in the 50 freestyle. Go Kara! I'm running out of people to cheer for now that the trials are almost over. It's been quite a ride!
