The Olympic Team has had some interesting news lately, if you follow swimming, I'm sure you've heard most of this already:

Eric Shanteau - Placed 2nd in the 200 Breaststroke was diagnosed with testicular cancer a week prior to the trials, is postponing treatment till after the Beijing Olympics. Article Here

Emily Silver - Placed 5th in the 100 Freestyle, Broke two fingers on her right hand as she came into the wall during semifinals in the 50 freestyle. She will still train and travel to Beijing but they decided to take an extra 100 Freestyler, who turned out to be my friend Kara Lynn Joyce of Athens Bulldogs. Article Here

Dara Torres - Placed 1st in the 50 and 100 Freestyle, seems like she's talked about more than Michael Phelps! I'm just as amazed as everybody else that a 41 year old mother can make the Olympic Team for the 5th time. She gave up her 100 Freestyle spot to Lacey Nymeyer (an honorable move). This might be another reason Kara Lynn Joyce made the team. Article Here

Kara Lynn Joyce - Placed 7th in the 100 Freestyle, She will be on the team due to the fact that Dara Torres gave up her spot in the 100 Free. Article Here

More soon, I'm out of time
