Fuller and Szopo

It was a great day outside which made my swim at Fuller more enjoyable but less intense. I find that it's hard for me to get a great workout at the outdoor pool. It offers great scenery especially on days like this when I can stare up at the clouds and enjoy the sun but good weather also brings lots of people. I find there are plenty of distracting swimmers. Don't get me wrong, they have every right to be there, but they might benefit from a lesson on circle swimming. I find that too much of my time is spent bumping into other people, which make me miss my intervals and make me swim slower. It's tough to pass up swimming outdoors on beautiful days, so I treat it as an aerobic workout and tend to focus on leg workouts with a kickboard so I'm sure not to run into anybody. Today I did 3,000 Long Course Meters.

I saw an old College and High School friend Stephanie Szopo at the pool, it was nice to catch up for a few minutes and tell about my Olympic Trial experience to a fellow swimmer. We swam together at Brighton High School as well as Eastern Michigan University.
