Crazy Schedule

What a crazy two days it's been, I've been either working or swimming for the past 36 hours, notice I didn't mention "sleep". It was nice to finally catch up on some rest this evening. I'm really enjoying doing more lactate work in practice, today I did 8x75 max + 25 easy on the 3:00. A workout derived from a popular EMU practice. I like this kind of set, although difficult, it gives you plenty of rest since you go all out for less than 50 seconds and you're back at the wall to rest by 1:30 which gives you a full minute and a half to rest before swimming again. I find I do really well with sets like this, all the rest gives my body time to process the lactic acid in my muscles and I'm ready to go "all out" again at the 3:00 mark. I'm learning lots about training from my friend Sarah who occasionally works out along side me in practice. Thanks Sarah for all the info!

I'm excited to travel to CA for a meet, this trip represents the furthest distance I've traveled to swim. This meet will be much like the Ohio State Grand Prix which I swam in a month ago. Although the official psych sheet (list of swimmers swimming) hasn't been released, I'm sure there will be a lot of fast swimmers present. Due to the fact there is a $20,000 dollar prize for high point (I wonder if Phelps will win it?) I assume it will attract the big names in swimming.
