FINA

I had a few people ask what "FINA" stands for. FINA is the governing body of swimming, it means "Fédération Internationale de Natation". You can find world rankings on their site: http://www.fina.org. My current rankings are:

50m Back LCM: 95th in the world (26.75)
100m Back LCM: 107th in the world (57.00)
50m Back SCM: 64th in the world (25.15)

I feel like that's not too shabby for my 2nd Long Course meet in my life. Most of my competition have trained and competed in many long course events, I've only just begun. I know I have much more time to drop, where I am now is a great place to start! What cracks me up is that I took out my 100 back 2/10ths of a second slower than the #1 world ranked 100 backstroker at the Ohio Grand Prix (Peirsol -27.06, Doak - 27.26). It's obvious I need to learn how to bring it home, which takes lots of training. I'm excited to consider the possibilities ahead!

Also, here are some 2007-2008 Masters World Rankings:

50m Back SCM - 1st in the world (25.15)
100m Back SCM - 1st in the world (55.65)
50m Free SCM - 3rd in the world (23.31)
100m Free SCM - 7th in the world (51.75)
50m Fly SCM - 6th in the world (25.12)
100m Back LCM - 1st in the world (57.00) - A world record that didn't count.
50m Back LCM - 1st in the world (27.06)

2007 was the first year I tried SCM competitions. I had a great year!
