2008 Michigan Masters State Meet (Day 2)

Day 2 of the Michigan Masters State Meet went great. All swims were the fastest I've been since college. Videos are encoding now, they will automatically show up on the video page.

Morning Session:

I was satisfied with my swims. My 100 Fly in the morning was great, it was a lifetime best time by a second although I was touched out by a tenth on the finish. I then tried to break my 50 back National Record again, but missed it by a tenth of a second, which was ok, it was worth another try.

Evening session:

The meet was starting to wear on me by this time, I'm not used to doing events back to back. I didn't have enough time to recover from each one. Therefore, most of my swims were done while I was tired. My 100 back was decent, although I was shooting for a 49 second swim, my 50.45 was satisfactory considering how tired I was. I then doubled into the 50 free and got a "best since college" time of 21.08, barely off my lifetime best of 20.95. I know if I was rested this would be well within my reach. Then I tripled into the 100 IM and had a lifetime best time of 53.39, besting my top swim by over 1.5 seconds. I have my friend Doug to thank for this, he helped coach me on my breast stroke pull last week. Reviewing the video shows some definite improvement over last year. Special thanks to my parents for their support this weekend.
