78,100 Yards!

After some dryland and bodyweight exercises I picked up an EMU workout and it wasn't until after the warmup that I started counting up the yards... It added up to 8,000! I knew this was more than double my typical yardage but I know I need to work harder to swim faster. I'm going to take all the solid parts of my training that have brought me some lifetime bests lately and work even harder while adding a moderate amount of yardage. I've done some great kicking sets but I'm not focusing enough on lung capacity. I'm a strong kicker on top of the water but I run out of air during the races and I'm forced to come up. The only way I know of to improve on this is to spend more time underwater. I have some ideas for underwater kicking sets but I'm always open to suggestions! I decided to do an extra 100 yards just to feel like I over achieved. Afterward I did a brief weight set only comprised of the machines I can't mimic with my free weights at home. I'll finish my weight set while I get some work done later.
