1 Month of Solid Training

Posted by Kevin Doak on Friday at: 8:56am (May 17th, 2019)

For too long, I've been swimming regularly, but not actually training.  This has yeilded some disapointing meet results.  For years, I've gotten serious about swimming for a week or two, and I let the progress slip away.  The 2019 Michigan Masters state meet was a wake up call for me. My times were far below my standard.  I didn't look good or feel good.  In fact, I didn't take the meet seriously at all because I hadn't put serious training in.  There was no expectation of excellence having not put the work in.  I've gotten serious about my training again.  I've spent 4 solid weeks training and swimming 2,000 - 3,000 yards a day, 6 days a week.  I'm focusing on high-intensity sprinting and kicking.  I'm feeling better and I'm on a schedule.  I'm commited to improving.
