2014 Canadian Short Course Nationals

After hearing wonderful things about the new "Windsor International Aquatic Centre", I signed up for the 2014 Canadian Short Course Nationals meet this weekend.  The weeks that lead up to the meet proved especially challenging as far as training went.  I can count my times in the pool on one hand over the past 3 weeks.  Although I'm not prepared to race at all, I decided it was still worth the short trip over to Ontario to check out the pool and compete with my friends.  I'm VERY glad I made the effort.  The facility is amazing and the competition is fantastic.

My performances thus far have been representative of my training level and recent interest in swimming.  In a word: poor

And that's ok for now.  I've been focused on other hobbies that put a smile on my face and that's what it's all about.  I have one more day of racing and I'm looking forward to racing again, even if it isn't a groundbreaking performance. I'm smiling.
