Eastern Michigan University is hosting the 2010 Mid American Conference Championship Meet. this year. I'm helping out in a few different capacities as usual.
It was an exciting first day. A very talented freshman Backstroker by the name of Jacob Hanson broke the Varsity record in the 200 IM and the freshmen record in the 100 Back with a time of 49.24! I'm confident he will eventually break my Varsity record of 48.51. There is actually an Australian transfer student Justin Griggs that may get it even before Hanson. Justin has been really tearing it up in Free (20.1), Fly (47.6) and Back(49.6). I would be happy for either to break it. They're both upstanding respectful individuals. Somehow it feels better for a nice person to break one of my records rather than somebody full of themselves! Its been an exciting meet thus far!
Since I've been at EMU each day, I've gotten some great training in each day and I feel like I'm slowly getting back on track. I've been averaging about four P90X workouts per week as well. Feeling better about training and looking forward to a meet!
