3,000 a day and goggle history

I've been getting in the water semi-regularly lately. When I do, I've been swimming 3,000 yards and trying to simply maintain my training. I wish I could say I'm getting better but I'm not making that sort of progress right now.

Tonight I swam at a community pool and I don't even want to speculate how hot the water was. Within minutes I was overheating and annoyed with the situation. It was like bathwater in there. I stuck it out for my 3,000 yards and RAN out of the pool area! I had a chance to speak with a local swimmer during practice. He swam high school in the 60's. We had a nice short conversation about how much swimming has changed with people simply wearing goggles. He mentioned how they used to swim a mile (1650 yards) and get out because the chlorine was so painful on their eyes. I've always taken goggles for granted and until recently had never even considered the possibility that goggles weren't even available to the general public in modern history. I'm lucky to have grown up when I did.

Monday starts my P90X training again!
