There are a ton of Tech Suits here! I would estimate the number at 90% of all racers are wearing a full body suit. The another 9% are wearing leg skins or an older full body suit. I've only seen one other guy with a brief on. They're even selling more tech suits here at the meet! I'm amazed there is still a market for them. I've overheard swimmers talking about how they know they will be banned but they want to milk it for everything its worth until they're illegal. I have a feeling there are going to be a lot less records broken next year!
I started out the meet with a 50 Fly. I've been looking forward to getting a good butterfly swim. I was matched up next to Patrick Saucedo along with some other great butterfliers. I wore my speedo brief suit with my practice goggles and no cap.
I had a decent start and underwater kicking. As I was swimming I felt like I wasn't catching much water. I also hit the lane line on the right side 5 times with my wrist. It was scrapped and a little bloody when I finished. I had a decent swim overall and achieved a lifetime best time of 25.40 which was .44 seconds below my former time of 25.84!
Both my friends Alec Mull and Patrick Saucedo achieved lifetime best times as well. Alec with a 25.71 and Patrick with a 25.68! Jim Pogue also swam it but I took some action shots of his swim and missed his time, great job everybody!
Tomorrow is 100 Back and 100 Free!
