27Munley Memorial Meet tomorrow!
Posted by Kevin Doak on Saturday at: 4:49pm (June 27th, 2009)
I had a strong practice yesterday despite being quite tired from rollerblading. After a 2,000 meter kicking set, or main set was only 1,000 meters for the sprint group comprised of 5 other U of M men and women.
2 rounds:
5 x [50 Easy + 50 Fast] @ 1:00 (Descend +1 to -1 of 200 pace)
1:00 rest between rounds
I did the first round backstroke and held 31's -32's which was a strong pace for me, I felt great in the water. The second round I did freestyle and held low 28's with one horrible swim at a 31.1(oops). I felt smooth and powerful in the water with only the slightest breakdown of my form at the end of the 50 meters. I was scheduled to do an arms workout for P90X but decided to take the night off. I'm headed in to do a quick 500 meter loosen up swim and prepare for the meet in the morning!
After looking at the weather it looks like it's going to rain a little in the morning and then clear up by 10am. I'll head out to East Lansing regardless and hope for the best!
