25Heck of a workout day and Running in the Rain!

I've filled today with quite a few activities. I woke up, worked, decided to get some sun while swimming at Fuller Pool. Today I just felt like cruising. I literally did zero hard swimming. I did some slow backstroke and moderate kicking and most likely got in about 1500 meters in 1.5 hours in the water! I ran into my friend Rodolpho Palma, the coach of Ann Arbor Masters. We caught up for a few minutes before he began training. Rodolpho has always been a fantastic resource for swim training and all things athletic. Shortly thereafter a few busloads of kids from a summer camp came and dominated the entire pool. I decided it was my time to get out. I came home and did a 1 hour Plyometrics workout before scooting off to swim practice. I parked a mile away and ran to the pool in the unbelievably hot weather. Today's swim practice was ROUGH. A ladder set (ascending yardage then descending yardage) from 200's up to 600's, all IM (Individual Medley). Definitely not my type of set, but it was still good for me.
After practice it was raining really hard. Earlier I had run to the pool and didn't have any other choice than to walk/run back to my car. The storm had created huge amounts of standing water and deep puddles galore. I tucked my keys in my shorts, left my shirt at the pool and held onto my cell phone as tight as I could. I totally underestimated how much fun this would be! I knew I would have to wash my shoes anyway so I took FULL advantage of jumping in the puddles! I was bounding through campus like a little kid, getting a handful of weird looks along the way. The most entertaining ones were people passing in their cars... the look of total confusion. I'm sure they saw me as some local weirdo running in shorts with no shirt smiling like a fool. I enjoyed every minute of it!
So in 12 hours, I've managed to work 8 hours and exercise 4 hours. I think I'll take the night off!
