Gearing up for Long Course!

Sadly, most of the SCY (Short Course Yards) meets are done till the fall. I didn't achieve my target times but I'll continue to train and have a better taper meet this fall! Sometime soon the Jones Pool will be converted to Long Course Meters and I'll begin training for some LCM meets I have planned for the summer:

Charlotte Ultra Swim Grand Prix: The next Speedo Grand Prix Series meet held mid May in North Carolina. I have no idea if I'll actually make it to this meet due to scheduling and travel costs. I have until April 30th to register. Historically it's been a very quick meet (just like every Grand Prix). It would be a good start to the LCM season for me!

MSU (Munley Meet): An outdoor Masters Meet held June 28th. I missed last year because it was during the 2008 Olympic Trials. It was a fun meet in 2007! I'm hoping for a reunion of our National Record setting relay team of Alec Mull, Patrick Saucedo and Adam Schmitt. We have a few more records to take down!

Masters Long Course Nationals: I've never been to a National Masters Meet! This one is held in early August at IUPUI in Indiana. It's the site of numerous Olympic Trials and International Championships. I've swam at IUPUI 3 times, two TYR Grand Prix SCM meets and USAS Sectionals last year while I was trying to get my Olympic Trials Cut. It's a great facility and I'm sure it will attact some great Masters Swimmers. I plan on attending this meet!
