27Rollerblading, Swimming and.... Pilates?!

It was an athletic day. I woke up and Rollerbladed in the flawless 80 degree weather, it was perfect out, sun was shining, great day to be outside. I rushed to the pool but only got in about 1600 Long Course Meters before the Kayakers took over the pool. I tracked down a pilates video link online the other day and decided to try it out. I feel like I see or hear about yoga or pilates all the time, neither of which I've tried. I gave it a shot, it was a 30 minute video. For those unfamiliar with Pilates: (taken from wikipedia)
"The program focuses on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and which are essential to providing support for the spine. In particular, Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and alignment of the spine, and aim to strengthen the deep torso muscles"
My video was for beginners, which I certainly qualify for, however, I think it is aimed for people who are hoping to transition from not working out at all to a basic daily workout. I was left feeling like hadn't accomplished much compared to a normal workout. I followed it up with some weights and typical dryland/bodyweight exercises. I think I'll try to track down some extreme pilates workouts and see how I fair with those. Overall, it was a great day, I feel like it was a well rounded health day!
