I need to thank all the people in my life nice enough to hold a camcorder during my races the last few years. I just spent about 20 minutes watching some race footage and it's just a fantastic study tool. We live in such a wonderful time in technology... harnessing the ability to relive a moment in our lives. My race footage enables me to study my strong points as well as my faults. On this website, it enables me to show family and friends, some who are thousands of miles away, a race I competed in. We all take it for granted, myself included. I really enjoy capturing my own race moments as well as others. I recently purchased a new camera lens intended for sports photography specifically. I'm excited to get some great pictures of some of my swimming friends!
I took both Saturday and Sunday off from the pool due to scheduling difficulties but I ended up getting a workout both days using weights and dryland exercises. I'm back in the pool tonight and all this week!
I had intended to travel to Chicago the first week of December for the TYR Grand Prix but as of right now, my plans are up in the air. I know I would really enjoy the trip, and the city, however my training and preparation are quite lacking. I feel that due to the expense and time commitments I would rather skip the meet and focus on a meet in the distant future instead. The conclusion I keep arriving at is that I'm going to travel that far, spend all that money on accommodations and travel, only to have a few mediocre swims. I swam VERY well last time I went to the Chicago meet, so the decision is really tough for me. I'm jealous of anybody attending, it's a fantastic meet at a very nice facility.
