Thank you friends and family!
Thank you friends and family!
I just wanted to thank all my friends and family for their interest and support. I'm having a lot of fun during this time, it's something I've always wanted to do. I feel support from everyone I care about and that cares about me, which is really helpful. I get lots of "congratulations" and "I knew you could do it" type comments, and it means a lot to me. I'm staying very busy with training and work, here is my typical day (rarely do I have a regular schedule due to work)
6:00am - 9:00am - Morning Practice (1st option for AM workout)
During the day, work as much as possible
11:00am-2:00pm - Morning Practice (2nd option for AM workout if I have work in the morning)
3:00pm - 5:00pm - Evening Practice (1st option for PM workout)
During the evening, work as much as possible, sometimes till midnight or later
7:00pm-9:00pm - Evening Practice (2nd option for PM workout if I had to swim at 11:00am)
Lately I've been swimming about 4 hours a day in addition to dryland (plyometrics) and weight training, so around 5-6 hours a day total. I swim approximately 7,000-10,000 Long Course Meters a day, 6-7 days a week. This week I took monday off but typically I go 7 days a week. If I swim 7 days, I'll only do a single practice one or two days during that week so I don't get worn down too much. I eat more than you can imagine, I'll get done with a full meal and still be hungry, it's sort of disturbing. I weigh myself daily and fluctuate between 168lbs and 171lbs. Before a meet I like to be on the lower end of that range. It's sort of interesting how much weight you lose during a workout. I'll weigh myself before and after I swim and I'll sometimes lose as much as 2 lbs while swimming. I drink about 32 oz of water while swimming 2 hours.
I guess that's it, thanks for reading :)
