17Short Practice and Lots of Starts

Due to a crazy work schedule that put me behind in my day, I was gently pushed out of the pool by the team half way through my 1 hour practice. I decided to finish up by doing lots of starts and 25's in an extra diving lane (generously provided by EMU Diving). I did:
10x25 yard sprints on the 1:00 backstroke from a push.
I was averaging low 12's with 10 fast kicks underwater which brought me 12.5 yards and I sprinted backstroke the rest of the way. I feel it's a good set to work on my underwater speed. I would like to get these down in the 11 second range, I believe it's possible in the near future. I did 4 all out sprints from a dive butterfly. I was self timing myself around the 10-11 second range, exactly where I want to be. Followed by 4 freestyle all out 25's in the 9-10 second range. Again, right where I want to be. I'll do some full speed turns this weekend in preparation for the TYR Grand Prix series of meets starting next weekend. I also did about 10 backstroke starts. My back and neck are sore from all the starts, but it's good for my body to get used to the stresses of starts so I'm ready for the real thing. I followed it all up with some weights. It's never easy to balance it all with work but I welcome the challenges.
